In late 90s we had strong straight edge / vegan movement in Poland and also in our area - Silesia. Counterweight from Ruda Śląska / Zagłębie are one of the best bands which existed in this time. They were inspired by Earth Crisis, Congress, Liar, Carcass, Morning Again, In Flames, Morbid Angel, Integrity etc. The band was created by my younger brother Rafał, ex-member of famous Healing - Kudłaty (also future member of Sunrise, Iron To Gold) and some young locos. At the end of the band Zibu from Sunrise joined as second guitarist. They did only one demo tape and CD album and they broke up. Some of Counterweight's members played also in old school hc SE band Dywizjon 303, others continued in many bands when relocated to Warsaw... Rafał also is known as owner of Anger Battery Records - hardcore label which existed 2010-2014 in London, UK.
